
Actress Zulay Henao is on the rise is what entertainment industry insiders are saying about this talented and gorgeous Medellin, Colombia native who brings a naturally luminous presence to her performances. Born in Medellin, Colombia, on May 29,1979, and raised in New Jersey, Zulay knew from a very early age she wanted to act. She is a rising talent who has drawn Hollywood’s attention making her one of the entertainment industry’s hottest young stars!
As a youngster, she was always very in tune with her feelings and always related well to others and their pain or feelings, she felt that acting was a natural progression on that innate connection. However, this gorgeous lady didn’t follow the normal route, after high school she enrolled in the Army and worked as a medical logistics specialists.
She also went on numerous humanitarion missions to Central America while serving in the military. Zulay also found the time to attend college during the time she was stationed in Ft. Bragg NC. When she left the Army after 3 years she went back home and enrolled in School for Film and Television in NYC where she attended for the next three years.
This year continues her ascent. In late September 2007, she began filming the female lead opposite Channing Tatum and Terrence Howard in the Rogue Pictures film Fighting. Previous to this, in May 2007, she’s filmed a guest-star role for the Mark Gordon (Grey’s Anatomy) produced original Lifetime series Army Wives and subsequently made her television debut in said episode on July 23rd. In June she filmed a guest star role on the long running NBC hit television series Law & Order: SVU and in August she wrapped filming a lead role in the Charles Dutton (Roc) directed Lifetime movie Racing for Time. Earlier in the year, she completed filming the female lead role in Stephen Leeds’ highly anticipated feature film Doorman.
In October 2006, she completed filming a lead role in the Belle Avery (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead) produced independent film Grizzly Park. However, before commencing Grizzly Park, she filmed a beautiful and stylized SAG Short film opposite Jamie Harding (United 93) entitled The Heart is a Hidden Camera. Prior to that, in May, she completed shooting opposite Manny Perez on Universal's crime drama Illegal Tender, produced by John Singleton and directed by Franc Reyes.
Concurrently, in May 2006, she also filmed the female lead in the October release of Columbia’s feature film Feel The Noise that Simon Fields, Sofia Sondervan and Jennifer Lopez produced. She's opposite Omarion (B2K). The film also stars Giancarlo Esposito and Victor Rasuk.
Noticing that she will truly make her presence felt on both the small and big screens, Ms. Henao was featured and profiled in the October 2006 issue of Paper Magazine in their annual "Un-Hollywood" issue.
